This cozy guesthouse is the perfect retreat for two or even three. Situated less than a minute from the Blue Ridge Parkway, it’s the perfect location to relax and enjoy the area. Recently renovated, it boasts a lovely combined living, kitchen and dining area. Front and back porches; both with swings and room to relax. The bedroom has a full and a twin bed and a shower bath. Want to bring your horse? We have room for them too! Come on and check it out!
The Hog Mt Retreat closes for winter from December until the first of April. No worries though. You can book in advance and we’ll see you then.

Hog Mtn. Retreat is a great place to stay. Like the ad says, it is just off the parkway and very close to many things: Floyd, Meadows of Dan and some really nice hiking trails. It’s very peaceful there and the accommodations are great. I would definitely recommend staying here.

I had the most beautiful stay at Pat and Jim’s Hog Mountain Retreat. Pat was wonderful with providing breakfast and a clean space to stay, and Jim was great to make sure the fire pit was up and burning when requested. The home was lovely, as were the views! It was a very quiet and peaceful retreat, with the town just 20 min out! I would highly recommend this retreat to anyone who wants a getaway for a few days!

Amazing place to stay! Secluded in the mountains with beautiful scenery that’s peaceful and quiet. About 20 minutes from downtown Floyd, and just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The cottage is perfect. Pat was very helpful and the view was very beautiful.and the Bed was very comfortable. Anyone that rent this will not be disappointed.

This cabin is so cozy, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils and cookware I needed to prepare a large, fancy dinner during our stay. There were plenty of bath and hand towels, wash cloths and dishtowels. The easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway was just what we wanted. We had a wonderful 5o mile round-trip bike ride to Fancy Gap and back. We spread our own quilt in the backyard to watch the Perseid Meteor Shower. The cabin blocked enough light from the street light in front and we were able to see several meteors. It was such a relaxing getaway. We even enjoyed watching the brief hail storm from the front porch.

I am an avid Airbnb girl. This place is 10 + 10. Jim and Mary had a fire last night and we joined them for fun and talking. The beds are very comfortable and I hope it rains at least once so you can hear the rain on the back porch metal roof. So comfortable and so so peaceful. I have booked it once more in Nov for a mother daughter trip. We went all the way to fancy gap and back. The eatery at Mabry Mill was closed so that was our only disappointment. Pat is a perfect host and answers anything and quickly. Debbie, Bedford Co, Va

The cabin was excellent! Our only advice is for the owner to give directions from both ends of 799! We had gotten off the pkway & ate at Floyd, then came thru Willis so we were confused & stopped several times to ask people where Hog Mtn Rd was! Wasted quite awhile b4 realizing it must be at the other end of 799! Cld not get thru to owner due to no coverage! Maybe other people wldn’t be this confused.

We had a great week at the Hog Mountain Retreat. The leaves were just starting to change color during the last week of September and the weather was perfect for exploring the Parkway or just reading on the porch. The cabin was fantastic – the kitchen was equipped as well as any location that we have stayed, the grill and picnic table on the back porch were a treat, the swings on both the front and back porches got plenty of use during our stay, internet and wireless were more than adequate, and the on-site property owners were incredibly friendly & welcoming. If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll definitely look to stay here again.

What a lovely place to stay! Fresh milk, orange juice and cereals, a supply of coffee k-cups was a nice welcome. Host very friendly, drove down to say hi from the golf cart! If you are looking for peace and quiet and some relaxation, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Floyd VA this is the place. Matches the description well. We would definitely rent from Pat gain!

We have been on the road to see the fall colors and have been staying in Airbnb’s along the way (14 states). This has been by far our favorite experience! It is so sweet and we met the owner who was awesome! The property, the pond, the gazebo with fireplace was exceptional. We took a drive through the back country roads and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Don’t pass this property up!

Clean, quiet, and extremely cozy little cabin that was perfect for my partner and I to get a weekend away and unplug. Owners were immediately accessible when I ran into an issue (that I caused), and helped to rectify it right away. Overall, a perfect experience. I will be keeping this one on my favorites!

My daughter and I loved our stay at Hog Mountain Retreat! It was very conveniently located to Mabry Mill and Rocky Knob. We loved the yard and enjoyed playing out there and getting some great pictures. Jim and Mary were wonderful. They had a grandson that was my daughter’s age that came over and hunted some Easter eggs. They also brought a snack over for my girl and a balance bike for her to play on. We can’t wait to return!
